Seit Ende November sind Ben und Jasha, junge Workawayers aus Großbritannien, bei uns. Hier ihr Zwischenbericht:

We would like to start by saying a big thank you for welcoming us to the Montessori-Schule in Geisenhausen and into the Montessori family. In England there is a saying “Time flies by when you are enjoying yourself” and our first few days have certainly disappeared in the blink of an eye!

From playing Fruit Shop and blindfolded direction games with the younger pupils to holding conversations with the older pupils, it has been a whirlwind of fun and learning for both parties.

As our faces become more familiar in the school corridors, we are seeing an increasing level of curiosity from the younger children who wish to talk to us in English. They are intrigued to know more about where we are from and it is great to see the spark of excitement light up in their eyes.

It is extremely rewarding holding conversation with the older pupils, getting involved in their lessons and running question & answer sessions in English. Some of the best questions have included: “Why should we travel when we are older?” “What is it like living in Cornwall?” And Ben’s personal favourite: “Please can you explain the rules of cricket?”

We would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the Stöger family and the Lausmann-Murr family for hosting us and making us feel so welcome.

Roll on week two!
