At the end of January the upper sections of the school gathered in the main hall to hear a small group of students in Years 7 and 8 present the life of Varian Fry.

Varian Fry, 1907-1967, helped thousands of people escape Germany in the early 1940s. He did this by setting up a rescue office in France, planning secret escape routes and forging documents. The people he helped included artists, writers and philosophers such as Marc Chagall, Lion Feuchtwanger and Hanna Arendt.

Congratulations to the students for their entertaining and informative presentations and for doing them in English!
